More than 25 years preparing the best vacations!

Our History

From the beginning we supported travel agencies and tour operators to have total control of their operations.

It all started in 1996 when Pepe Strub, a travel professional from Switzerland, came to the conclusion that he needed to automate the sales process of his travel agency. A collection of best practices to simplify reservations, bookings and document creation was implemented on a MS Access database application. This first Travel Management System successfully ran for 12 years on their internal LAN network.

In 2006 Pepe decided to advance the application to run on the Internet. He partnered with Juan Carlos Alvarez and Costa Rica Virtual Inc. to develop a new application based on PHP technology and the inclusion of the latest AJAX tools. In 2008 the new system known as TMS was completed. The SaaS style application allowed all employees to work remotely and thus helped the agency to survive the global financial crisis of 2008.

This practical application received multiple improvements over the years. In 2014, ahead of its time, we added an automated itinerary builder, a tool that speeds up the documentation process tremendously. In 2017 we were approached by a 3rd party to turn our system into a customizable solution based on the latest technologies and including a robust CRM. After working on blue prints (scope) we started programming in 2019. We are using cutting-edge technology based on JavaScript. This solution provides us with long-term stability and allows incorporating new functions in the future. The use of JavaScript strengthens the application and allows for the distribution of functionalities on different servers.

The beta version of our software was completed in the beginning of 2021 and a few weeks later we chose Travel Ibex as our brand. In summer all tests were completed successfully and in September the first version was released. With tourism recovering from the pandemic we are ready to support the travel industry in their quest to improve their operations and become more efficient.
